nervious breakdown
... Grabbing classcards in a few. Should I panic? Maybe I should panic. Last year I got punted off of MDC because I was too cocky. I wasn't in the seasonal hotlists, but maybe I should start being worried. I dunno.

~

Wrote a little for that Sentaro/Skuld fic. Rereading it now, I think it sucks, but them's the breaks. I'm out of practice. I'm gonna buy myself a new mechanical pencil-- that always makes me write well.

And how about you guys? What are your traditional writing habits? I.e; writing in unlined notebook paper, or in a certain ink color, or a certain pen brand? Is there music involved? Inquiring minds want to know.

~

It's a nice cloudy day. I like cloudy days-- because I can walk out and not be fried to a crisp by the sun.

Classcard results in a little while XDD

I suggest worrying later - that way you don't worry if you don't need to. Easier on the nerves, you know.

Writing wise: Always a pencil - mechnical now, since I don't have access to a sharpener attached to a wall, like I did way back when.

No music, as I find it highly distracting. Sadly, I find CourtTV and the Discovery channel to be good to work to. I've got the Diane tape from Twin Peaks, and that's good, too. I can push those things to the back of my mind, where they create a soothing, educational hum that doesn't really interfer with my writing.

singit lang.
Mechanical pencils are loveleh. And reliable (as long as you have the refills, heheh). I find them neater as well -- but wow, didn't know that you write better with that.

Music is a must, unless there really is nothing to match the scene. I find that it helps sustain the emotion/moment enough so that my fingers can catch up to what's flashed in my head. Heheh. Instrumentals WIN. While the anime may be old news, the Angel Sanctuary album has excellent sounds for whatever mood. The NANA OST is awesome too. Right now though, I'm leaning towards Depapepe and a bit of Kyo (which has lyrics, but the melodies take you away), but that's just me.

And notebooks. Notebooks are the holy grail of writing. Especially for original pieces. xD

Re: singit lang.
Oh and because I forgot, do you have the NANA ost already? (I swear I asked this question already, so if this is the second time you read this forgive me -- I'm running on less than two hours of sleep and am in desperate need of a nap) The manga takes up only so much space despite the number of volumes that I have, so parang sayang naman if yun lang yung ilalagay ko. Do you want the music? I'll slip in what I have so that you can listen to the stuff.

Of course, most of them are just instrumentals from the movie itself -- I'm still looking for more of their music, so... yeah.

I'm not a good writer, but here's my habits anyhow...

I normally write at the computer, oddly enough. Notepad or Wordpad open, I type short sections at a time, taking breaks occasionally to brainstorm, revise, correct, screw up, or figure out how to write myself out of corners I've ended up in.

I write my stories in odd ways - I'll often write sections of it out of order, then cut/paste them into proper ordering when I determine how best to fit the scenes into my vision.

I use my iPod or the music on my computer while writing, but there are times it becomes a nuisance more than anything.

I have a 'master' list of story ideas that I add to whenever inspiration strikes me. When I get the urge to write and need an idea, I look through the list for direction.

I rarely write fiction in hardcopy anymore due to the haphazard way I write/rewrite, but when I do, I use a mechanical pencil, click eraser, and a spiral notebook with lined pages.

And that's how my bad fiction gets written. Not that I will ever let any of it see the light of day, mind you. XD
